Due to Heavy Rainfall, Mumbai’s Local Train Services are Affected and Running with Delays

Due to continuous heavy rainfall, Mumbai is facing serious waterlogging issues, resulting in heavy traffic jams across the city.

On Friday, Mumbai and other districts in Maharashtra experienced heavy rainfall, causing disruptions to normal life and leading to chaos throughout the entire state. The India Meteorological Department issued red and orange alerts for several districts in Maharashtra on Friday.

According to the weather department’s report, between 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM on Friday, Mumbai recorded 73.62 mm of rainfall, while eastern suburbs and western suburbs received 88.30 mm and 63.29 mm of rainfall, respectively.

The continuous rain has also affected the local train services in the city. Mumbai has been witnessing heavy rainfall for the past few days, and the intensity has increased over the last 2-3 days. More than 100 local train services have been canceled due to the heavy rains.

After receiving a flood warning in Kurla, the Harbour Line local train services between Mumbai and Navi Mumbai were also impacted on Friday. The Central Railway informed on Friday evening that the Harbour Line, which runs between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) and Panvel/Goregaon, was running with a delay of 10-15 minutes when all sections were operational.

Please be cautious and stay safe during this time of heavy rainfall. Avoid unnecessary travel if possible and follow any safety advisories issued by the authorities to ensure your well-being and avoid any inconvenience.
